“....I was in prison, and you visited me.” (Matthew 25:36)

MISSION
The mission of the Kairos Prison Ministry is to share the transforming love and forgiveness of Jesus Christ to impact the hearts and lives of incarcerated men, women and youth, as well as their families, to become loving and productive citizens of their communities.

Kairos Weekend #29 is officially scheduled for March 20-23, 2025!!!
The Hightower Kairos Prison Ministry serves the L.V. Hightower State Prison Unit located at 902 FM 686, Dayton, TX 77535.
Kairos is a ministry whose mission is to develop a Christian community inside prisons.  Each Kairos weekend program brings 42 Hightower Brothers-in-White together for a 3 ½ day retreat led by Christian volunteers.
     The Weekend is structured with:
  • Encountering Kairos -- To reduce anxiety and begin building comfort levels
  • Encountering Self -- To understand yourself and your standing with God
  • Encountering Christ -- To meet Jesus and the Body of Christ and find forgiveness in Jesus Christ
  • Encountering Others -- To begin the process of growing in faith and community with others
For many Brothers-in-White, the Kairos Weekend creates the desire to become Christians or fuels the fire to continue their spiritual growth.

We in Kairos believe:
  • That the Bible is God’s authoritative and inspired word for our faith and our lives.
  • In the Trinity of the Father, Son and Holy Spirit.
  • In the deity, death and resurrection of Jesus Christ.
  • That friendship with God is a free gift, "for God so loved the world that He gave His one and only son so that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life." (John 3:16)
  • That the love of Jesus Christ motivates His followers to provide food for the hungry, drink to the thirsty, welcome to the stranger, clothes for the naked and visits to the sick and those in prison. (Matthew 25:36)
  • In sharing the love and forgiveness of Jesus Christ with all incarcerated individuals, their families and to those who work with them inside and outside the correctional institution.
